Senate Candidate Erica Harriss Stands with Granite City Workers

Erica Conway Harriss, Candidate for State Senate in the 56th District has released a statement on the potential job loss at Granite City Steel:

“Yesterday, the United Steelworkers of Granite City Steel and Mayor Mike Parkinson addressed the ongoing threat to as many as 1000 Metro East jobs at the mill if the deal with SunCoke Energy goes through. Despite the difficult road ahead, I want the people of Granite City and the workers at Granite City Steel to know that I will stand with them in the State Senate, I will fight with them, and I will demand an end to the globalist policies of Joe Biden that have betrayed our families, caused lasting damage to the local economy, and sold the precious fruit of their labor overseas. My grandfather worked his entire career at the mill and his legacy, and family’s livelihood, are forever tied to Granite City Steel. I will never forget this and will continue to advocate for the people of Granite City and our region in Springfield, as I have done on the Madison County Board.” – Erica Conway Harriss, Candidate for State Senate in the 56th District
