Campaign Internship Job Description
The Erica Harriss for State Senate Campaign, in partnership with the Illinois Senate Republican Victory Fund, is offering a paid internship opportunity for high school students, college students, recent graduates, and young professionals interested in public service, grassroots organizing, and political leadership.
Campaign interns serve as an integral part of our grassroots field team and will gain firsthand experience in voter outreach, community engagement, and campaign operations while helping build support throughout the 56th Senate District.
This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn how a state legislative campaign operates while developing valuable professional skills that can be applied to careers in government, communications, business, public relations, and community leadership.
Responsibilities
Interns may assist with:
- Organizing and participating in precinct walks and voter outreach efforts
- Attending parades, community events, and campaign functions throughout the district
- Creating and promoting digital and social media content
- Conducting voter contact through phone calls, text messaging, and door-to-door engagement
- Assisting with campaign events and special projects
- Working directly with campaign staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders
